Automotive Product Specialist — Installation & Technical Support

RGB Halo Kits is seeking an Automotive Product Specialist to support customers with understanding, installing, and using automotive lighting products. The onsite role combines vehicle testing, guide and video creation, Shopify content updates, and in-person technical troubleshooting.

Role Location and Schedule

• Location: Gilbert, AZ (onsite)
• Expected hours: 40.0 hours per week

Pay

• Hourly range: USD 25 to 30 per hour

What You’ll Do

• Assist with product installations and vehicle testing while documenting fitment, wiring requirements, operation, and any limitations.
• Learn the process for headlight assembly, opening, resealing, and product testing methods.
• Create step-by-step installation guides, including planning shots, filming the process, writing instructions, editing the video, and uploading the final material.
• Capture product and installation photos and develop clear videos that show how products work, what is included, and what the installation involves.
• Update Shopify product descriptions and help articles to ensure compatibility, features, included components, and installation requirements reflect verified information.
• Support customers with troubleshooting for product setup, wiring, and installation questions. Review customer photos and videos, document what they have tried, and escalate issues when needed.
• Use recurring customer questions to improve instructions, FAQs, and product information.
• Maintain organized files and move assigned projects through technical review and publication.

Requirements

• Automotive knowledge: Familiarity with common makes and models, model years, trims, basic vehicle components, and aftermarket modifications, including understanding why compatibility must be checked for the specific vehicle.
• Practical aptitude: Comfort working with tools and parts, following instructions, and learning installation and troubleshooting procedures.
• Computer confidence: Ability to research online, organize files, work with documents, upload material, and learn new software.
• Basic media skills: Capability to capture clear photos and video, perform straightforward edits, and explain processes on camera or via voiceover.
• Clear communication: Skill in writing understandable instructions and explaining technical information to people unfamiliar with the product.
• Accuracy and ownership: Attention to detail, willingness to ask questions when uncertain, openness to feedback, and ability to complete projects without frequent reminders.

Helpful Experience

• Hands-on experience installing automotive lighting, car audio, accessories, or other modifications is strongly preferred. Personal projects are welcome.
• Video editing experience, how-to guide creation, maintaining online product listings, updating websites, or providing online technical support is valuable.
• Familiarity with Shopify, video editing software, YouTube uploads, or customer support platforms is helpful. Experience with every tool is not required, as product training, headlight methods, and internal workflows will be taught.

About the Role

The primary focus is product testing, installation guide creation, and accurate product information. You will also provide technical help for customer questions and troubleshooting. Work is split between time at a workbench, around vehicles, and at a computer. A professional mechanic background is not required, but baseline knowledge of cars, common makes and models, and aftermarket modifications is needed.

The instructional videos are centered on installation walkthroughs and product demonstrations. Social media account management is not part of the position.

Additional Role Notes

DRL kit installation note correction: You confirmed that a DRL kit installs inside the customer’s existing headlights and requires opening, wiring, and resealing them, even though the product page currently says “plug and play.” Provide a replacement installation note in two sentences, then briefly explain what else you would check or update before publishing the correction.

Role interest: This position includes hands-on product work, written installation guides, filming and editing instructional videos, product-page updates, and technical customer support.
