Desktop Support Specialist

Truck Country (McCoy Group) is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to deliver front-line technical assistance to computer users in Dubuque, Iowa. This onsite role supports troubleshooting and user help, while also supporting the configuration and installation of network hardware and components alongside senior IT staff.

Working directly with clients and internal teams, you will help keep systems running smoothly by resolving day-to-day technology issues and contributing to onsite network setup, testing, and documentation.

What you’ll do

• Provide technical assistance to computer users by answering questions and resolving issues in person, by telephone, or electronically
• Deliver tier one support focused on computer hardware and software, including printing, e-mail, corporate software systems, operating systems, and general troubleshooting
• Support senior IT staff with configuration work for hardware such as laptops/workstations, phones, and other network devices
• Consult with users to identify and document system requirements and specifications
• Perform onsite configuration, installation, testing, and documentation of network components

• Knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory is a plus
• Occasional travel across Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or MIS, or a 2-year Associates degree, with equivalent hands-on experience
