Desktop Support Technician
Job Description
Lucas Horsfall offers a benefits-forward environment that prioritizes flexible time off, robust voluntary insurance options, a 401(k) matching program, a discretionary bonus, and ongoing professional development. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team focused on meaningful impact for clients across California, with a culture that supports growth and hands-on problem solving.
The Desktop Support Technician role is based onsite in Los Angeles, CA and provides hands-on endpoint support across our offices. You will own day-to-day workstation provisioning, ticket triage and escalation, and user account administration, while partnering with Ascend Partner Services platform engineers on infrastructure, cloud, and security initiatives. The position carries a salary range of USD 65,000 to 85,000 per year, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1–2 end-user support for hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues via the ITSM platform; document cases clearly and escalate complex problems to senior staff and Ascend platform engineers as needed.
- Provision, image, and deploy Windows 11 laptops using Microsoft Intune; perform end-to-end workstation setup including monitors, docking stations, and peripherals; maintain asset inventory across offices.
- Handle day-to-day account and access administration, resolving sign-in and password issues, resets, lockouts, and permission requests to minimize downtime for staff.
- Support sessions in the Azure Virtual Desktop environment, managed by Azure Active Directory, including profile, performance, and application-access troubleshooting.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, including users, groups, MFA, and Entra ID; support Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding end-to-end: provisioning accounts, setting up equipment, and providing first-day support.
- Offer application support for tax and accounting software such as CCH Axcess and Caseware Cloud/DAS, with heightened responsiveness during peak periods.
- Troubleshoot secure connectivity and basic network issues in coordination with Ascend platform engineers.
- Create and maintain knowledge-base articles and standard operating procedures; identify recurring issues and propose practical fixes.
- Travel periodically between California offices for on-site support, moves, and project work.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of IT support, help desk, or desktop support experience (internships count); associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and common business hardware.
- Experience with a ticketing system and a disciplined approach to documentation and follow-through.
- Clear, patient communicator who delivers high-quality service to partners and staff at all levels.
- Ability to travel between offices and a valid driver’s license.
