Engineer/Technical Support
Job Description
Yama Seiki USA, Inc. offers an onsite Engineer/Technical Support opportunity in Chino, CA with a $25.00–$35.00 hourly rate and full-time schedule. You will support installed CNC machines through their lifecycle, helping customers keep production running reliably while working with service case workflows and technical documentation.
In this role, you will be the front line for technical support and also support deeper troubleshooting behind the scenes. The position blends electrical and mechanical diagnostics with service planning, parts coordination, and clear communication across customer needs and factory support.
Responsibilities
- Maintain machine, customer, and service case records in the service database.
- Log, track, and follow up on service cases, including emails and calls.
- Verify warranty status, installation dates, and service responsibility.
- Diagnose machine and production equipment issues and support problem resolution.
- Carry out electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and infrared scanners.
- Identify required spare parts, check inventory, and coordinate with the factory for items that are not documented.
- Determine whether on-site service is needed and estimate labor and time requirements.
- Interpret PLC programs, electrical schematics, and operation manuals.
- Respond to technical support inquiries and provide solutions.
- Write, update, and translate service procedures and related documentation.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Engineering or technical background (mechanical, electrical, or related field).
- Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Fluent English.
- Willing and able to travel for on-site installation, troubleshooting, and service support (position requires 50% travel).
- Ability to commute to Chino, CA 91710 (required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CNC machines or CNC systems (preferred).
- Proficiency in Chinese (plus).
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
