Join a team that supports commercial construction customers with science-backed solutions. In this onsite Field Technical Support role at Momentive Performance Materials (Waterford, NY), you will work under the direction of the Lab Manager to help drive testing, reporting, and technical customer engagement through the Construction Sealants Application Development Center.
You will collaborate closely with Sales and cross-functional partners to strengthen technical positioning across key segments, support projects from pre-construction through active construction, and represent Momentive’s interests through industry organizations and technical events. If you value hands-on technical work, collaboration, and clear communication, this position offers a strong mix of technical support, customer interaction, and professional development.
What you’ll do

- Provide responsive onsite project and technical support for pre-construction and active construction needs, primarily within NAM, with limited activity in Mexico.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Technology (R&D) to support technical needs within your functional area.
- Create and support technical literature and participate in New-Product-Introduction (NPI) projects.
- Maintain external relationships with authorized distributors, direct customers, industry specification associates, and trade associations.
- Participate in assigned trade organizations, symposia, and conferences (for example, ASTM, ABAA, FGIA) to help develop and execute strategies that represent and promote MPM interests.
- Gather market competitive intelligence on new technologies, market trends, customer needs, and IP opportunities, then communicate and collaborate with internal teams to capitalize on opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to architects, consultants, SCIPs, and property owner/managers, and write technical content for promotional and marketing communications.
- Coordinate with internal teams and outside agencies to arrange product testing for industry certifications and performance test requirements.
- Develop internal and external customer training programs, application procedure development, technical literature content creation, and issue investigation and resolution.
- Support sales growth through the creation of procedures, tools, literature, and technical concepts; collaborate with Marketing and R&D on new product concepts informed by market analysis and customer input.
- Support NPIs, customer trials and tests, and other ad-hoc technical activities as necessary.
