The position provides stable on site duties five days a week, with hands on work supporting staff and users, workstation setup, device updates, and structured ticketing to guide daily IT troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver on site desktop and help desk support for staff and users in Madison, resolving technical issues promptly with careful attention to detail.
- Install, connect, and configure monitors, Lenovo all in one systems, and Dell desktop computers for daily operations.
- Execute routine device updates, including software installations, system patches, and operating system maintenance across supported workstations.
- Update user and computer accounts in Active Directory, including device renaming and maintaining accurate system records.
- Route and organize cabling under desks and workstations to keep hardware setups clean, functional, and reliable.
- Troubleshoot Windows based desktop issues involving hardware, software, and peripheral connectivity.
- Manage assigned service requests and incidents through a ticketing system, documenting work performed and updating status as needed.
- Assist with physical workstation moves, equipment handling, and other support tasks that involve lifting and transporting desktop hardware.
- Verify that newly deployed or updated devices function properly and meet operational standards before handing off to end users.
- Bring at least 1 year of experience in desktop support, help desk support, or a similar technical role to the team.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in desktop support, help desk support, or a similar technical support role.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, including basic device or account administration tasks.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments, including Windows 10.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting for desktop hardware, software, and workstation-related issues.
- Familiarity with handling service desk tickets and maintaining accurate support documentation.
- Experience working with PC workstations, including setup, connectivity, and peripheral support.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment, monitors, and related hardware as part of daily responsibilities.
