Job Description
East Carolina University (ECU) has an opening for Hourly Student Employment - Service Desk Technical Support Technicians in the ITCS Client Engagement and Support area. This on-campus role provides phone and email technology assistance to ECU clients, supporting everyday tasks like setup, connectivity, software installation, and troubleshooting.
With a focus on clear communication and helpful guidance, technicians will work with a wide range of ECU community members, helping resolve common device and account needs while learning and applying practical support processes.
Role Overview
- Provide phone and email technology support for ECU clients through ITCS Client Engagement and Support.
- Support common client needs including setup, connectivity, ECU software installation, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Assist faculty, staff, students, retirees, alumni, and other ECU clients over the phone and via email.
- Help clients set up email on computers and smart phones.
- Support clients with connecting devices to Wi-Fi.
- Assist with installing ECU software.
- Troubleshoot computer-related issues.
- Check a client’s account.
- Provide clients with information on how to reset their passphrase.

Requirements
- Minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Responsible and committed to work.
- Good communication skills and strong note-taking skills.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to provide good customer service.
- For eligibility, applicants must be current ECU students, in good standing, and meet the relevant GPA requirement for the position type.
- Final candidates may be subject to criminal & sex offender background checks based on duties and responsibilities.
