In-Home Sales & Tech Support (Part Time)
Job Description
Asurion in Columbia, SC is seeking a part-time in-home sales and tech support professional to operate onsite, traveling locally to meet customers where they are. This role blends hands-on tech assistance with consultative selling, following a Serve, Solve, Sell approach, and includes paid training with evening hours to accommodate customer schedules. The position emphasizes practical solutions delivered in clear terms to everyday users.
The role requires meeting customers in their homes or nearby locations, with pre-scheduled interactions designed to meet and exceed sales targets. You will provide attentive service throughout every engagement, applying your technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve issues, and ensuring customers leave satisfied with a workable resolution and a product that aligns with their future tech needs.
Responsibilities
- Meet customers in-home, in-office, or wherever they are; pre-schedule interactions to meet and surpass sales targets.
- Provide exceptional, customer-first service throughout the entire interaction.
- Utilize your expertise to address and resolve customers’ tech issues; explain solutions in plain terms for all levels of tech knowledge.
- Ensure customers depart with a working resolution and a product that supports their future tech needs.
- Leverage Asurion’s growing product range to offer tailored solutions; listen actively to identify customer needs and position products accordingly.
- Employ strong negotiation and communication skills to guide the appropriate sale and stay motivated to close.
- Complete paid training to prepare you for independent field work.
Requirements
- Comfortable working in a sales environment with set targets.
- A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record with at least 1 year of driving experience.
- Proof of valid car insurance (Manhattan excluded).
- A personal vehicle (no motorcycles). Travel up to 120 miles one-way to neighborhoods and cities around the inventory warehouse.
- A varied 5-day weekly schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays based on customer needs.
- A personal cellphone for on-the-go communication.
- Comfortable working around household pets.
- Efficient, adaptable, goal-oriented and persuasive communication skills.
- Open-minded with a desire to learn a broad set of skills applicable to multiple career paths.
- Naturally outgoing and enjoy interactions with people.
- Flexibility to vary work hours based on business needs and market demand.

- Base hourly rate is guaranteed for all hours worked and paid bi-weekly. Earned pay can be accessed early.
