Job Description

Kukui IT is hiring an IT Support Engineer to provide on-site technology installation and support for Microsoft-based computers and networks. This part-time role in Kahului, HI focuses on keeping systems running, resolving technical issues, and helping end users with updates and maintenance.

You will work primarily on-site (with some off-site support for software updates), troubleshoot challenging problems, and contribute to system documentation. The position is currently part-time, with the possibility of growth toward a salary role with benefits in the near future.

Responsibilities

  • Install and support on-site Microsoft-based computers and networks.
  • Research and troubleshoot a range of challenging technical issues.
  • Perform on-site and off-site software updates and system maintenance, including end-user assistance and training.
  • Handle network management and maintenance, including backups and security updates.
  • Provide occasional support for Tablets, iPhones, and other Smartphones.
  • Maintain system documentation for supported environments.
  • Work part time, with potential to move to a salary position with benefits as the company grows.

Requirements

  • Passion for technology.
  • Superb problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid drivers license.
  • Computer expertise in Windows 10 and Windows 11, MS Office, PC networking, and hardware repair.
  • MCP or CompTIA certifications are a plus.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, with good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pound computers and networking equipment.
  • Must pass a general problem solving and skills assessment test for consideration.

Benefit conditions: Part-time employees are eligible. If the initial Zoom interview goes well, Kukui IT will fly you to their HQ on Kauai to meet the crew and complete a final interview.

Work setup: This role is not remote. To qualify, you must live in Maui.
