Job Description

The Microcomputer Technical Support Specialist will support and implement computer applications and LAN operating systems onsite in Grand Island, NY, while contributing to user training within the Instructional Technology Department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and deployment for computer applications and local area network operating systems.
  • Monitor system performance and tune configurations to maintain optimal operation.
  • Organize, create, and maintain system documentation.
  • Install, maintain, and support software applications across environments.
  • Assist in training users on systems, software, and applications.
  • Adhere to supervisor instructions and department guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in computer programming, including one year in programming and/or maintenance of vendor-supplied operating software, OR
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field and four years of data processing experience, two years of which included computer programming and at least one year in programming and/or maintenance of vendor-supplied operating software, OR
  • High school diploma or equivalency and six years of data processing experience, two years of which included computer programming and at least one year in programming and/or maintenance of vendor-supplied operating software.
  • Proven ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, and parents.

Compensation and terms

  • Salary: $31 per hour
  • Appointment: Permanent
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Location: Grand Island, NY (onsite)
