Onsite IT Support Technician
Job Description
This onsite role supports clients’ day-to-day technology needs by resolving IT issues in person, over the phone, and sometimes remotely. You will work with local network environments, assist users, and document resolutions using a cloud-based ticketing system provided by Better IT Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance for client hardware and software
- Set up workstations, including computers and necessary peripheral devices such as routers and printers
- Inspect and verify the functionality of hardware components, including HDD, mouse, and keyboard
- Install and configure software and related functions according to provided specifications
- Maintain local networks to support reliable, optimized performance
- Support network and computer system security and privacy
- Perform network cabling and install relevant equipment
- Guide users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Plan and schedule upgrades and maintenance while supporting client work continuity
- Troubleshoot issues to diagnose and resolve problems, including repair, part replacement, and debugging
- Maintain accurate records, logs of repairs and fixes, and maintenance schedules
- Identify shortages in required computer or network equipment and place orders
- Resolve client issues via phone, in person, or electronically
- Recommend hardware and software improvements based on client needs
- Track customer issues and resolutions using the cloud-based ticketing system provided
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in IT and computer support
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Share details of Microsoft, CompTIA, and Cisco certifications for enhanced consideration
Preferred Experience
- IT support experience (1 year, preferred)
- Windows or networking experience (1 year, preferred)
Education
High school or equivalent (Preferred)

- Pay: $45,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year
