Job Description

Senior Technical Support Engineer role based in Hillsboro, OR (hybrid) providing technical support for Hitachi High-Tech America’s products.

Responsibilities

  • Handle escalations, fleet performance testing, and system installations.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and support information.
  • Generate documentation for upgrades, maintenance, installations, and troubleshooting.
  • Support field implementation and compliance through documentation creation and review.
  • Create and present system performance data, including availability, preventive maintenance “green-to-green” time, and mean time between failures.
  • Identify performance trends and propose, then execute, improvement ideas.
  • Maintain technical and product knowledge while building understanding of business variables, processes, and characteristics.
  • Partner with external clients and internal Hitachi High-Tech America groups including New Product Introduction, TSG, Service, Technology, Sales, Design, and QA.
  • Coordinate technical fieldwork as needed.
  • Present technical data in high-level customer meetings across domestic and international Hitachi divisions.
  • Produce reports such as TSG reports, escalation reports, and national service alert reports.
  • Prepare detailed documentation to support problem solving and engineer training.
  • Lead project responsibility using project management methodology.
  • Provide guidance and information to other Technical Support Engineers and Yield Control Technology Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience with Hitachi High kV and HF5000 Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEMs).
  • Experience with Hitachi NX5000/NX9000 Focused Ion Beam (FIB) systems.
  • Experience with optical technology in electron microscopy.
  • Experience with automated mechanical transfer system technology.
  • Experience with Spherical Aberration Corrector.
