Sr. Help Desk Support Technician, Wed -Sat Nights
Job Description
Senior Help Desk and IT warehouse support technician, onsite in Henrico, Virginia, with a Wednesday through Saturday night schedule. The role focuses on maintaining and supporting computer systems, networks, and warehouse technology to sustain efficient operations.
Compensation and Schedule
- Salary: USD 65,000 - 68,000 per year
- Location: Henrico, VA (onsite)
- Schedule: Wednesday through Saturday nights
Responsibilities
- Plan, deploy, and optimize local networks to enhance performance.
- Troubleshoot and analyze warehouse equipment and systems.
- Develop short- and long-term strategies to meet or exceed warehouse operation expectations.
- Assist with PowerShell scripting and automation tasks.
- Bridge the relationship between technical operations and production operations.
- Coordinate software deployments across multiple computers.
- Protect the security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
- Troubleshoot issues to diagnose and resolve problems.
- Configure workstations with computers and essential peripherals such as routers and printers.
- Inspect hardware components including hard drives, mice, and keyboards to verify functionality.
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on operating new software and computer equipment.
- Maintain records of repairs, fixes, and the maintenance schedule.
- Identify shortages of computer or network equipment and initiate purchase orders.
- Adhere to corporate and site Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
- Follow all safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
Requirements
- High school diploma; relevant work experience may substitute for an advanced degree.
- More than three years of end-user support experience.
- At least one year of IT support experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 10.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Server product line.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- Familiarity with VPN technologies.
- Experience with data backup practices.
- Knowledge of virus protection measures.
- Experience with network system monitoring.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities with the ability to manage technical operations.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, and internet security principles.
- Ability to participate in on-call support within a 24/7 operational environment.
