Job Description

The Technical Support Services Technician position is an onsite role based in Akron, Ohio, delivering hands-on technical assistance to FIT Technologies clients. The role involves supporting, monitoring, and maintaining client environments, with work conducted onsite or remotely as part of routine tasks and preventive maintenance. The salary range is USD 45,000 to 55,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and other team members.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades.
  • Install, maintain, and repair desktop hardware, network equipment, and PC peripherals.
  • Maintain daily service calls and meet requested SLA time frames based on client expectations.
  • Provide detailed progress updates in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance following company and vendor standards.
  • Ensure the physical cabling infrastructure meets desired standards.
  • Participate in equipment liquidations.

Requirements

  • Display a professional, reliable, trustworthy, and positive demeanor.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems while documenting all steps in an internal ticketing system.
  • Ability to relay technical information clearly to clients with varying levels of technical knowledge, both in writing and verbally.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and task follow-through.
  • Understanding of different versions of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Group Policy.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP addressing and VLANs.
  • Familiarity with network-based PC operating system deployment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information accessed, processed, or stored.
  • Certifications such as A+, Network+, MTA, or MCSA are desirable.
  • Adaptable to evolving priorities and able to follow established processes and protocols.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to ensure physical cabling meets desired standards.
  • Willingness to learn software tools and applications, including asset tracking and ticketing systems.

Working Conditions + Requirements

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and valid vehicle insurance.
  • Local travel and occasional travel to other parts of Ohio or out of state.
  • May require occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • May occasionally require work weeks exceeding 40 hours.
