Job Description

In this Technical Support Specialist role at the Saginaw Intermediate School District, you will help keep district technology functioning—from computers and printers to interactive devices and telephony. The position combines hands-on hardware and software maintenance with device and user management, plus regular travel to district and partner locations to support classrooms and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware and software maintenance for computer systems and peripherals, including printers, scanners, document cameras, projectors, sound systems, interactive devices, desktops and laptops, Chrome OS devices, tablets (iOS and Android), and telephony equipment.
  • Assist with device and user management systems, image creation and deployment, and the upkeep of desktop security software.
  • Travel regularly to all Saginaw ISD and partner sites within the contracted service area.
  • Maintain a daily activity log in a help desk database.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and provide positive customer interactions.
  • Greet customers in a helpful and professional manner.
  • Carry out related duties and responsibilities as assigned by department coordinators and supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 60 college hours in technology or an equivalent combination is required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience installing and maintaining networked computer systems.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11, Google Chrome OS, and Apple iPad OS platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals with varying levels of technology proficiency.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-based environment and participate in collaborative decision-making.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and to lift as necessary.
  • All conditional hires must complete a drug screening as part of the final step in the employment process.
