Technical Support Specialist

Crutchfield Corporation is hiring a Technical Support Specialist to deliver technical support for home and car equipment. In this hybrid role from Charlottesville, VA, you will troubleshoot issues, guide customers in using their products, and communicate professionally across phone, email, and chat.

What You’ll Do

• Provide technical support to customers who have purchased product from Crutchfield.
• Maintain a calm, interested, and professional demeanor while assisting customers.
• Help customers understand and effectively use their equipment.
• Troubleshoot technical or product issues for both home and car equipment, including diagnosing problems, offering solutions, and providing step-by-step instructions.
• Actively listen to customers, paraphrase to clarify needs, and ensure accurate understanding before responding.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with basic math skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn through on-the-job training.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Highly self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through phone, email, and chat.
• Ability to maintain a consistent work schedule that includes working 1 weekend day per week.
• Previous customer service, retail, restaurant experience, or a background in electronics (and other related fields), along with DIY experience is recommended but not required.
• Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.

Training and Start Date

• New Technical Support Specialists receive 10 weeks of paid, hands-on training with an experienced Tech Trainer before working with customers independently.
• The next training class is scheduled to begin September 21, 2026.

Work Location and Hybrid Schedule

Training will be conducted onsite in Charlottesville, VA. After training, you will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule: 2 days working from home and 3 days working onsite per week.

To qualify for the hybrid schedule, any remote work must be completed within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
