Technical Support Specialist
Job Description
LinTech Global, Inc. is seeking a Technical Support Specialist based 100% onsite in Portsmouth, VA.
Responsibilities
- Handle customer and field maintenance support for NMCP IM/IT, including management and field technical support
- Support workstation/client needs for research and development and new technologies
- Perform site surveys and document current site configuration plus user requirements
- Design and optimize network topologies
- Review existing requirements and submit specification recommendations for hardware and software acquisitions
- Develop engineering plans and create site installation Technical Design Packages
- Build hardware/software installation schedules
- Prepare drawings that document configuration changes at each site
- Prepare site installation and test reports
- Configure systems, communication devices, and peripheral equipment
- Install network hardware/software
- Build specialized interconnecting cables
- Troubleshoot system software issues and assist users in resolving software difficulties
- Review, test, and coordinate software updates and changes to confirm correct operation
- Update users with new procedures and policies intended to improve system efficiency
- Support user groups with equipment location planning and reallocations; recommend reallocations when inefficiencies are identified
- Support users in setting up new hardware systems including terminals, printers, and other input/output devices
- Run microcomputer-level diagnostics and isolate hardware malfunctions at least to the workstation level
- Provide on-site assistance for data migration and orientation to Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
- Work directly with customers to describe functionality, troubleshoot problems, monitor system availability, and resolve incidents
- Coordinate with program application developers, trainers, and infrastructure support as needed
- Use a Sponsor tool to manage tickets and support requests
- Accurately capture, categorize, and report trouble calls and suggested system enhancements
- May support testing and process access requests
Requirements
- 3+ years combined experience installing IT equipment, including experience installing:
- Computers / CPUs
- Printers
- Scanners
- Data cabling
- Basic software
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- General experience training personnel on installed equipment
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (preferred)
- Microsoft Technology Associate
- IAT II/CompTIA Security+ ce certification required to start
- NACLC & DHA CAC required to start

Job Details

- Salary: USD 50,000 - 55,000 per year
- Minimum Experience: 3 years
