Desktop Support Specialist
Job Description
Stor-It Self Storage is hiring a Desktop Support Specialist to strengthen IT support across multiple Southern California locations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver desktop and end-user support for computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Diagnose network connectivity problems, including LAN (Local Area Network), TCP/IP, and related network components.
- Support users across Windows and Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Perform Windows Server support tasks such as user account creation, password resets, policy application, and permissions management.
- Troubleshoot devices for hardware failures or malfunctions and coordinate repair or replacement as needed.
- Review and analyze system logs to identify and resolve complex issues involving hardware, applications, or network infrastructure.
- Work with the Network Security partner to maintain and support security protocols that safeguard company data.
- Assist with deploying software updates, patches, and operating system upgrades across multiple devices while minimizing downtime.
- Provide clear, user-friendly technical guidance and communicate updates to end-users of varying skill levels.
Requirements
- Proven experience in desktop support or IT support, with strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network systems.
- Working knowledge of computer networking, including LAN/WAN architecture, TCP/IP, DNS management, and network security best practices.
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows and Windows Server operating systems.
- Ability to support Server Security for user account administration.
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex technical issues quickly and accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining steps and providing status updates to end-users.
- Knowledge of hardware components such as motherboards, hard drives, RAM modules, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals, with the ability to troubleshoot and support equipment.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure components including switches, routers, DNS servers, TCP/IP configuration, and LAN setup is highly desirable.

Job Location and Pay
- Location: Newport Beach, CA (onsite)
- Work model: In person
- Pay: USD 68,000 - 70,000 per year
- Site coverage: Corporate Office in Newport Beach and 11 sites mostly across Southern California
