Hardware Technical Support / Field Service Specialist
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers
- Conduct field service visits and repairs
- Assemble, test, and repair industrial products
- Assemble electromechanical subsystems and wire harnesses
- Pack and ship product units
- Manage inventory and parts levels
- Offer engineering support as needed
- Provide applications expertise to customers
- Create print samples and documentation
- Install products and deliver customer training
- Prepare and support trade show setups
- Support and service demo equipment
- Occasional travel required
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED with relevant technical training or hands-on certifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Associate’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in hardware technical support and/or industrial product assembly
- Strong foundational knowledge of AC/DC theory and industrial control components, including wire harnesses, solenoids, relays, and sensors
- Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
- Proficiency with computers; comfortable using Microsoft Excel
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, including spelling and grammar
- Pleasant attitude when interacting with customers
- Willingness to do whatever is needed and wear many hats
