Hardware Technical Support / Field Service Specialist

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Conduct field service visits and repairs
  • Assemble, test, and repair industrial products
  • Assemble electromechanical subsystems and wire harnesses
  • Pack and ship product units
  • Manage inventory and parts levels
  • Offer engineering support as needed
  • Provide applications expertise to customers
  • Create print samples and documentation
  • Install products and deliver customer training
  • Prepare and support trade show setups
  • Support and service demo equipment
  • Occasional travel required

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED with relevant technical training or hands-on certifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in hardware technical support and/or industrial product assembly
  • Strong foundational knowledge of AC/DC theory and industrial control components, including wire harnesses, solenoids, relays, and sensors
  • Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Proficiency with computers; comfortable using Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, including spelling and grammar
  • Pleasant attitude when interacting with customers
  • Willingness to do whatever is needed and wear many hats
