Job Description

The City of Kenosha is seeking a Help Desk/Network Technician to provide first-line IT support to City computer users under the Director of Information Technology. This onsite role in Kenosha, Wisconsin, offers a monthly salary range of USD 4,558 - 6,794.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and maintains system and network functionality through ongoing observation and routine checks.
  • Assesses and prioritizes user issues to guide appropriate resolution.
  • Ensures user needs are fulfilled and properly documented.
  • Responds to help desk inquiries by phone and email about software and hardware operations.
  • Installs, updates, and repairs computer hardware and software.
  • Sets up and configures user computer peripherals.
  • Escalates significant hardware or software issues to vendors or technicians for service.
  • Assists with managing staff access to the enterprise environment (adding and removing access).
  • Supports system operations and troubleshooting across the City’s technical infrastructure.
  • Prepares and updates user training guides, internal instructional documentation, and technical reference materials.
  • Provides user training on the proper use of hardware and software.
  • Collaborates with City staff and management to identify opportunities for workflow and systems improvements.

Requirements

  • Education, training, and experience will be evaluated during the selection process.
  • Applicants may be required to take written, oral, proficiency, or other assessments to verify knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • A motor vehicle record review and a criminal background check are required.
