Job Description
The Help Desk Technician provides on-site support to district staff and students, addressing software applications, operations, and malfunctions to ensure smooth use of technology across sites within Lompoc Unified School District (CA).

- Salary: USD 4,347 - 5,288 per month
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities
- Assist personnel and students with software applications, operations, and malfunctions.
- Manage user accounts by creating, disabling, resetting, and editing as needed.
- Provide technical support for issues including troubleshooting, diagnosis, software installation, and malfunction resolution.
- Follow up on reported problems to ensure timely closure.
- Carry out general administrative duties as part of daily operations.
- Monitor and report incidents in accordance with district procedures.
- Respond to inquiries from sites via phone, email, and in person to determine the type of request.
- Diagnose issues, resolve problems, provide information, and refer to appropriate IT personnel when needed.
- Troubleshoot and assist in diagnosing technical issues with software applications, computer malfunctions, and program installations.
- Assist with deploying various application software products, manage user data, passwords, and backup scheduling.
- Ensure the availability and functionality of district supported software.
- Manage email accounts for personnel and students across Active Directory, Google Administrator Console, and Office 365.
- Perform general clerical duties including answering telephones, scheduling, and duplicating materials.
- Support department operations and assist with documentation such as instructions, notices, reminders, and memos.
- Document department operational activities as required and provide written references as needed.
- Process vendor requisitions including travel requests and reimbursements.
- Maintain an up-to-date list of technology equipment ordered district-wide and deployment dates.
- Install software and hardware and configure or re-image personal computers, Chromebooks, iPads, and laptops.
- Monitor student Chromebook activities using assigned software and report safety alerts as needed.
- Contribute to updates of reference manuals and documentation; ensure information is accurate and current.
- Maintain and modify files and records including help desk logs and work order systems to provide an audit trail.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and trainings; research applications, vendors, and emerging technology; recommend products aligned with district needs and costs.
- Offer technical information and guidance to district personnel on technical issues and support assigned projects and programs.
- Ensure proper security and functionality of district supported software and facilitate communication with personnel and outside agencies to coordinate activities.
- Operate office equipment including copiers, fax machines, computers, and related software.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in related roles
- Certification: Google Certificated Educator Level 1 required
