Job Description

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is hiring an on-site Help Desk Technician in Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly range of $26-$35 and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees and their families. You will join a national support team responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting software and hardware, resolving user account issues, and serving as the first point of contact for end users. The position is on-site with occasional travel to satellite offices on a rotational schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support by diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving end-user issues
  • Log and track incidents in the ticketing system and monitor progress to ensure timely resolution
  • Install and configure computers, software, and peripherals in line with established standards
  • Prioritize client needs by developing and maintaining productive relationships with users
  • Suggest alternative solutions when appropriate and escalate complex issues as needed
  • Travel to satellite offices on a rotating schedule to deliver on-site support
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required; an associate degree or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to empathize and professionally troubleshoot and resolve user issues
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and solid knowledge of current Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting and connectivity issues
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends and to drive to branch office locations as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and sound judgment abilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
