Help Desk Technician

BCI, Inc. is seeking a Help Desk Technician to support managed clients through both day-to-day helpdesk coverage and emergency assistance. This onsite role in Bartlett, IL involves handling helpdesk requests, performing remote troubleshooting, and supporting on-site hardware and security work for customers across the region.

What you’ll do

• Review monitored clients’ daily backup logs and check for issues.
• Monitor email and dashboard alerts for critical events that require timely action.
• Check Health Check logs to identify possible problems or improvement opportunities.
• Receive and respond to client technical support requests by phone and e-mail.
• Provide remote troubleshooting for customer desktop issues.
• Support field technicians with end-user assistance when needed.
• Document every issue and the steps taken to reach resolution.
• Monitor the IT Helpdesk portal, prioritize assigned tasks, and respond quickly and effectively.
• Maintain an organized parts inventory.
• Complete hardware upgrades and repairs and install peripherals onsite for PCs and laptops in the suburbs and in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Indiana (company van available for travel).
• Perform virus and spyware removal.
• Remotely diagnose and repair problems at customer sites.
• Tear down and replace or repair computer devices at the company office.

What you’ll need

• Associates Degree and/or 1-2 years of experience repairing PCs and providing remote support.
• Desktop support experience troubleshooting desktop, laptop, and printer issues tied to hardware, software, and connectivity in a Windows & Active Directory and MS Office environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
• Clear, effective communication skills in both verbal and written form.
• Ability to manage multiple requests from various sources.
• Time management skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and maintenance of auto insurance coverage.

Pay and schedule context

This onsite role is based in Bartlett, IL with an hourly salary range of $18 to $21. Experience of at least 1 year is required.
