The OCME IT department offers a part-time, onsite role designed for students pursuing college-level IT coursework. This position is located in New York City at 421 East 26th Street, NY, and offers an hourly wage of USD 19. The work schedule adapts to your academic calendar, with 17.5 hours per week while classes are in session and 35 hours per week during vacation periods. Responsibilities

  • Provide helpdesk and desktop support for hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Set up and support audio/visual equipment and computers in conference and training rooms
  • Assist with IMAC tasks (Installs, Moves, Adds, & Changes) for computer systems and peripherals
  • Work across multiple departments within the agency on digitization projects and other administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Assignment Level I: Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school; employment conditioned on ongoing student status
  • Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific IT related course of study (information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field) including 9 semester credits
  • Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with IT related course of study, including 9 semester credits
  • Special note: Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the College Aide title is 6 years; no student is employed more than half-time during active class terms; full-time employment is allowed during vacation periods
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required; the agency does not sponsor visas or STEM OPT
  • New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment; some eligibility exceptions apply for city employees with two continuous years of service
  • DNA sampling by swab may be required for selected candidates
