Job Description

SitelogIQ is seeking an IT Help Desk Specialist to join its corporate IT team in Sacramento. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for end-user IT issues, diagnosing and resolving problems across software, hardware, the operating system, and basic networking. The position requires in-office presence at least three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and troubleshoot typical errors across software, hardware, operating systems, peripherals, and basic network connectivity.
  • Provide technical support using documented troubleshooting procedures to restore user productivity.
  • Install and configure approved software and operating systems on desktops and laptops per established standards.
  • Update software, operating systems, drivers, and related components when necessary and verify successful completion.
  • Set up computers, monitors, printers, peripherals, and related technology for new and existing users.
  • Follow up with users after issues are resolved to confirm proper functionality and address questions.
  • Offer basic training and guidance in computer setup, standard applications, and new technologies.
  • Resolve basic issues independently, document troubleshooting steps and solutions, and escalate complex or unresolved problems to higher-level staff with clear details.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is typically required.
  • 1 to 2 years of help desk, desktop support, technical support, or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of common desktop operating systems, business applications, computer hardware and peripherals, and basic networking concepts.
  • Ability to diagnose routine problems, follow established troubleshooting procedures, test solutions, and identify when escalation is required.
  • Ability to install, configure, and update software and operating systems using approved standards and instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of workstation setup, hardware maintenance, and common computer repair practices.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with patience and professionalism when assisting users with varying levels of technical experience.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information in understandable terms.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through on multiple support requests.
  • Ability to work independently on routine assignments and collaboratively with higher-level IT staff on escalated issues.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies, procedures, and support tools as business needs evolve.
