Job Description

The IT Support & Automation Specialist position is full-time and in-office in Louisville, KY, reporting to the IT Manager. What You’ll Do
- Act as the first point of contact for associates experiencing technology issues across hardware, software, connectivity, account access, and related topics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common desktop, application, networking, and security-related issues, providing clear updates on progress and next steps.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and related equipment.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding through account setup, access changes, and equipment coordination.
- Maintain accurate inventories of hardware and software assets.
- Help monitor system and network performance, including software licensing, patching, backups, and upgrade schedules.
- Maintain and improve IT policies, procedures, technical documentation, and internal knowledge resources.
- Escalate more complex issues by partnering with internal subject-matter experts and external technology providers.
- Build and maintain scripts, workflows, and pipelines to reduce manual work and improve reliability.
- Support internally developed tools with source control repositories, code-review practices, and deployment processes.
- Assist with deployment, monitoring, documentation, and ongoing support of production software and internal technology solutions.
- Contribute to data management, including routine data movement, data-quality checks, and process documentation.
- Identify recurring issues or inefficient processes and recommend practical improvements.
- Use scripting, generative AI, and other approved tools thoughtfully while following security and data-governance requirements.
- Support evaluation, configuration, rollout, and administration of approved AI tools and integrations.
- Help associates use approved technology effectively through approachable training, guidance, and troubleshooting support.
- Support corporate account provisioning, access management, tenant-level administration, approved integrations, and monitoring of third-party tools.
- Monitor security and backup systems, and promptly escalate issues to the appropriate resource.
- Support identity and access management, including access reviews and offboarding.
- Assist with security awareness training, phishing testing, and responses to audit, due diligence, or regulatory information requests.
- Ensure technology practices align with firm expectations for security, confidentiality, and compliance.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field (or equivalent education and professional experience).
- 2+ years of professional experience across relevant areas such as IT support, systems administration, automation, software development, data management, or cybersecurity.
- Experience supporting end users in a professional environment, including problem diagnosis, clear communication, and ownership through resolution.
- Experience in financial services, asset management, or another highly regulated environment is preferred, not required.
- Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator, Security, Identity and Access Administrator, or similar are a plus.
- Working knowledge of common hardware, software, networking, and endpoint-support concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and interest or experience in Microsoft Azure administration and configuration.
- Exposure to security and compliance tools such as Microsoft Entra, Purview, Defender, multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, email security, or backup systems.
- Familiarity with Windows endpoint management, device imaging, patching, and user-access administration.
- Experience with, or strong interest in learning, scripting for automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar.
- Familiarity with Git, source control, branching, and code-review practices.
- Exposure to DevOps concepts, including CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Exposure to SQL Server administration and data-quality checks or data movement between systems is helpful.
- Familiarity with cloud architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, or virtualized environments (such as vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V) is a plus, not required.
- Interest in AI tools and an understanding that enterprise AI use requires sound security, confidentiality, governance, and practical judgment.
