IT Support Specialist I

Prime Healthcare Management Inc is hiring an IT Support Specialist I to deliver tier one support for everyday hardware and software needs. This onsite role in Des Plaines, IL centers on helpdesk telephone support, incident documentation, and accurate call tracking using help desk software.

The position supports the Information Services department by routing issues appropriately, flagging critical situations for immediate technician attention, and advising management when problems may impact department operations.

What You’ll Do

• Provide telephone support for the helpdesk and associated processes.
• Deliver tier one IT support for hardware and software applications.
• Use help desk software to maintain an accurate log of incoming calls.
• Document all incidents and route calls to technicians, including notifying them of critical situations requiring immediate attention based on priority.
• Maintain the skills needed to assist a variety of users with specific problems.
• Advise the Director/Manager of issues that may affect the Information Services department.

Required Qualifications

• Work experience performing help desk activities using a help desk software application.
• Knowledge of E-Mail system fundamentals.
• Understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP and MS/NT.
• Familiarity with internet and WEB browser concepts.
• High School Diploma required for all new hires starting 4/1/14.

Preferred Qualifications

• A+ certification preferred.
• 0-2 years related work experience and customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Outlook, MS Office, and Active Directory preferred.

Compensation and Pay Transparency

Prime Healthcare Management Inc offers an estimated compensation range of $17.00 to $23.74 (estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation) for this role. The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and may consider skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.

Hourly salary range listed: USD 17 - 23 per hour.
