IT Support Technician

The IT Support Technician supports day-to-day technology operations for Vance Thompson Vision Clinic Prof L in West Fargo, ND (onsite). The role combines device administration for ophthalmic systems with hands-on and remote end-user support, alongside Zoom Room and Line of Business application support.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain a broad fleet of ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical devices, supporting peak performance and regulatory compliance.
• Deliver technical support through hands-on assistance, phone support, and remote troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Design, build, and maintain functional Zoom Room systems, and administer the organization’s Zoom-based phone system.
• Provide administration and support for critical Line of Business (LOB) applications.
• Manage and complete a variety of internal IT projects.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation, and provide training to improve team proficiency with software applications.
• Use RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) to support proactive monitoring, patch management, remote access, and automated maintenance across endpoints to improve uptime.
• Maintain accurate IT asset inventory using asset management tools to track hardware and software licenses across all Vance Thompson Vision locations.
• Develop scripts using tools such as PowerShell and Python to automate recurring IT tasks, streamline operations, and improve the user experience.
• Evaluate, recommend, and help integrate emerging AI-powered tools to support better business processes and more efficient service delivery across departments.
• Contribute input and recommendations related to the implementation of new technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in information technology or an equivalent field of study.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous IT support experience preferred.
