IT Support & User Administrator
Job Description
Barr-Nunn Transportation LLC is hiring an on-site IT Support & User Administrator in Granger, IA (50109). In this role, you will provide daily support to local and remote employees while managing user access, endpoints, and the processes that keep workstations secure and ready for new hires.
You will help troubleshoot day-to-day hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues, then support the lifecycle of employee devices from onboarding through offboarding. The position also includes running interactive cybersecurity awareness sessions and building practical end-user documentation to reduce recurring support tickets.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and resolve daily hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues for local and remote employees.
- Handle user onboarding and offboarding workflows, including account provisioning, group policy or role assignment, and credential management for identity platforms such as Active Directory / Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain employee workstations (Windows), mobile devices, and software using endpoint management tools including Intune / MDM.
- Support device imaging, inventory tracking, hardware upgrades, and secure disposal of equipment.
- Lead weekly or bi-weekly IT orientation sessions for new employees, covering hardware setup, account access, productivity tools, and internal communication channels.
- Deliver interactive cybersecurity awareness training focused on phishing identification, password hygiene, safe remote work habits, and social engineering risks.
- Create user-friendly documentation, quick-reference guides, and short video tutorials that support self-service.
- Review user friction points and support trends to develop proactive training materials aimed at lowering ticket volume.
Required Experience & Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in an IT help desk, desktop support, or technical support role.
- Solid experience supporting Windows OS environments in a corporate setting.
- Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft 365 cloud productivity tools.
- Understanding of core identity and networking concepts, including Active Directory / Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, MFA, and SSO.
- Ability to routinely lift computer equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to assist in lifting or maneuvering computer equipment weighing 51-100 lbs. on occasion.
