Mac Technical Support Technician with basic windows knowledge
Job Description
Bel-tronics Communications Systems Inc is seeking a Mac Technical Support Technician who can handle escalated macOS issues while providing basic Windows support in a mixed-OS environment. This onsite role in Peoria, AZ concentrates on hands-on troubleshooting for Apple devices such as MacBook, iMac, and Mac Mini, pairing hardware diagnostics with user guidance on security and best practices. The position offers compensation in the range of USD 18 to 24 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Respond to and manage support requests via phone, email, chat, and ticketing systems.
- Provide macOS support for MacBook, iMac, and Mac Mini devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to macOS, Apple hardware, iCloud, Apple ID, and third-party applications commonly used in Mac environments.
- Support Apple Business Manager, MDM and RMM platforms, and deployment workflows.
- Utilize knowledge of firmware updates and password lockout issues to assist users.
- Assist users with macOS updates, system performance concerns, and application compatibility.
- Perform hardware diagnostics and repairs including SSD replacements, RAM upgrades, battery swaps, and logic board troubleshooting.
- Configure and support network services such as SMB shares, VPN connections, shared printers, and Wi-Fi access points in mixed OS environments.
- Provide basic Windows 10/11 support, including password resets, desktop troubleshooting, and Office 365 user management.
- Collaborate with Windows and network teams to ensure seamless cross-platform integration.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ticket tracking using internal systems.
- Provide guidance and training to end users on macOS best practices and security.
- Participate in monthly maintenance tasks and client health checks.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience supporting macOS in a business environment.
- Strong understanding of macOS Ventura/Sonoma, Apple hardware, and Apple ecosystem tools.
- Experience with MDM solutions is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Office 365 on macOS, including Outlook and Teams.
- Basic Windows support experience (Windows 10/11, Office 365, desktop troubleshooting).
- Basic networking knowledge: DNS, DHCP, VPN, SMB, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or similar certification is a plus.
- A+ or Network+ certification is beneficial but not required.
- Time Machine and backup strategy support, macOS recovery and internet recovery tools, and FileVault encryption management.
- macOS system logs and crash report analysis capabilities.
