Job Description

Part-time IT Help Desk Technician providing frontline technical support to staff, students, and administrators, ensuring reliable access to instructional and administrative technology resources.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver frontline support for computers, printers, classroom technology, and software applications.
  • Log, track, and document requests through the help desk ticketing system.
  • Diagnose and resolve common issues, escalating complex problems to senior IT staff as needed.
  • Identify and troubleshoot student device issues, perform basic repairs when possible, and coordinate warranty or vendor repairs for external devices.
  • Assist with device deployments, user account management, password resets, and technology onboarding for new users.
  • Manage and maintain Google Workspace environments via the Google Admin Console, including user and device administration.
  • Support user accounts and related tasks in PowerSchool and other educational technology platforms.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Perform basic network connectivity troubleshooting for both wired and wireless devices.
  • Maintain precise technology inventory, repair documentation, and asset management records.
  • Provide professional, customer-focused support to staff and students.

Requirements

  • Fundamental knowledge of Windows operating systems, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and common educational technology tools.
  • Familiarity with PowerSchool, Google Admin Console, or similar management platforms is preferred but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication, and a client-focused service mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a school setting.
  • Preferred enrollment in, or pursuit of, a degree, certification, or career pathway in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to move between multiple buildings and classrooms throughout the school day.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and access confined spaces to reach technology infrastructure and hardware.
