Part Time Onsite IT Support
Job Description
Miles IT is seeking a part-time onsite IT support consultant to assist small- and medium-sized businesses with on-site support and technology implementations. The role blends advisory duties with hands-on technical work, requiring a customer-focused, consultative approach and strong troubleshooting skills. The position is based in Lester, West Virginia and involves visiting client sites in the Metro Area as needed.
Responsibilities
- Travel to client locations in the designated Metro Area to provide on-site support when required
- Troubleshoot and resolve computer and network issues with assistance from remote personnel
- Implement new technology with remote support
- Assess customer support needs to identify appropriate technology solutions
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers
- Document work performed and capture technical details for clients
Requirements
- Ability to diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on desktops and servers
- Experience installing and troubleshooting WinXP, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS
- End-user and Help Desk experience with MS Office Suite and other common desktop applications
- Experience diagnosing network-related issues tied to infrastructure such as switches and routers
- Configuration of TCP/IP settings on networks and troubleshooting TCP/IP problems
- Certifications such as A+, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, CNE, CCNA are advantageous but not required
- Residence within close proximity to the Metro Area for which you are applying
