Senior Desktop Support Specialist
Job Description
Calance US is hiring a Senior Desktop Support Specialist for an on-site role at its Piedmont, SC facility, supporting office workstations, production line technology, and warehouse logistics equipment. This contract-to-hire position places you as the primary escalation point for desktop and endpoint issues, while also helping lead refreshes, rollouts, and day-to-day guidance for junior desktop support staff.
Role overview
As the on-site technical lead, you will troubleshoot and maintain a wide range of endpoints and connected devices across office spaces, distribution centers, and production floors. Your work will include endpoint management, network and VoIP support, connectivity investigations, and technical leadership for workstation refreshes and site rollouts.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact and escalation point for technical issues across office spaces, distribution centers, and production floors.
- Provision, troubleshoot, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, Zebra/thermal printers, and handheld RF scanners.
- Deploy images, manage user access via Active Directory, and handle software patching using Intune, Automox, Lansweeper, and Soti MobiControl.
- Resolve connectivity issues including VPN, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi, and support Avaya VoIP desk phones and softphones.
- Help lead workstation refreshes, office expansions, and site-wide technology rollouts.
- Act as a technical lead and guide junior desktop support staff.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on desktop/IT support in an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience supporting IT infrastructure in a manufacturing, plant, or warehouse environment (RF devices, thermal printers, production line connectivity).
- Strong proficiency with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
- Experience with Active Directory, network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and Jira (or similar ITSM tools).
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for basic operational automation.
- Ability to move freely across large plant/warehouse facilities and lift up to 30 lbs of IT equipment.

Contract details
- Position type: Contract-to-Hire (C2H)
- Schedule: Full-Time, First Shift; occasional On-Call / Shift Support as needed

- Salary: USD 50,000 - 65,000 per year
