Job Description
In this Technical Support role, you’ll help healthcare teams implement and optimize electronic medical record software within a correctional medical setting. You’ll combine hands-on training with ongoing technical support, serving as the client advocate whenever new changes or projects are proposed, and you’ll perform on-site work in Paducah, Kentucky with up to 25% travel.
Responsibilities
- Train correctional medical staff on electronic medical record software in a team setting while advising clients on ways to improve workflow efficiency, with nurses shadowed and inmates potentially in the general vicinity.
- Deliver comprehensive software application training to users.
- Review and validate EMR templates and other customizations before client use.
- Serve as the client’s advocate and subject matter expert during application changes and proposed projects.
- Handle all training preparation tasks, including database setup, materials, travel requests, and the training environment.
- Recommend development of teaching aids such as manuals, job aids, and eLearning modules.
- Manage training classes containing up to 15 students.
- Provide technical support to both new and existing clients.
- Document and update customer records based on interactions.
- Troubleshoot issues and help resolve client concerns.
- Coordinate with appropriate departments to resolve or complete client issues.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in training, computers, medical, or a related field.
- Relevant background in customer service, training, medical, or similar areas.
- Ability to establish rapport with clients and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Capability to learn and operate software programs quickly.
- Basic understanding of technical terminology.
- Prior training and implementation experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment and as part of a team.
- Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Innovative mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Robust interpersonal skills critical to success in the role.
