Technical Support Representative
Job Description
Support Armstrong’s HVAC and hydronic solutions with technically grounded, customer-first pre-sale and support work across the US.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-sale technical support and product assistance for Armstrong HVAC and hydronic systems to internal sales teams and external customers across the US
- Own technical issues from intake through resolution, applying a high level of responsibility and professionalism
- Work cross-functionally with teams such as Sales Engineering, Product Management, and R&D to develop and propose effective solution offerings for sales agencies, consulting engineers, and contractors
- Record solutions and technical decisions in internal systems to support traceability and knowledge sharing
- Participate in or lead technical project teams related to strategic initiatives and product development when requested by management
- Assist with creating and maintaining departmental policies, procedures, and support documentation
- Build strong, responsive relationships with sales teams and customers through consistent technical support
- Analyze customer feedback and field experience to recommend improvements to Armstrong product offerings
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, competitor insights, and product issues to support continuous improvement and product positioning
- Support company marketing and product initiatives by sharing relevant technical and customer insights
- Provide occasional internal product training sessions and contribute to development of technical tools and resources
- Join RSEC team discussions and participate in alignment meetings across the Americas
- Support special technical projects as assigned by management
- Maintain a proactive mindset focused on increased business agility, faster response times, and improved service quality
- Collaborate on creation and refinement of internal technical materials, FAQs, and best-practice guides
Requirements
- College diploma or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 2-3 years of experience in technical support, HVAC, hydronic systems, or mechanical building systems
- Familiarity with centrifugal pumps, heat exchangers, and general HVAC applications
- Knowledge of building automation systems and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus) considered a strong asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical documentation tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform root cause analysis
- Working knowledge of HVAC application engineering (HVAC Hydronic Systems) and design principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to break down complex technical issues
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation
- Self-motivated and organized, able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, collaborative, in-person environment
