Technical Support Specialist
Job Description
Onsite in Wauconda, IL, POSRG is hiring a Technical Support Specialist to deliver real-time remote helpdesk and phone-based assistance to field technicians. This role helps you bring hands-on technical skills to support complex electromechanical and electronic systems, with the satisfaction of troubleshooting and guiding fixes across many locations while keeping communication clear and professional.
How you’ll support field technicians
- Provide helpdesk and phone-based technical support to field technicians in real time
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues remotely through clear, patient communication
- Assist with the replacement coordination of mainboards, I/O boards, power supplies, and liquid pumps
- Troubleshoot I/O boards to identify faults and guide corrective actions
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving humidity, magnetic, and temperature sensors
- Troubleshoot stepper motor performance and operation
- Analyze pump spray patterns and support corrective adjustments
- Perform and assist with software and firmware updates on supported devices
- Configure and support general Wi-Fi setup for connected devices
What you bring
- Hands-on experience working with general electronics boards and components
- Demonstrated experience in appliance repair or a related field
- Experience with general Wi-Fi device setup and connectivity troubleshooting
- Excellent verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical steps over the phone
- Patience and professionalism when working with technicians of varying technical backgrounds
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for remote diagnosis
Helpful experience (preferred)
- Experience with electromechanical devices and systems
- Experience with appliance repair and/or tech support
- Familiarity with stepper motors, liquid pump systems, or environmental sensors
- Background in helpdesk, technical support, or field service coordination
Work environment
The role involves frequent telephone and remote communication with field technicians across multiple locations. You’ll work in a fast-paced support environment, managing multiple cases at once while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor. Occasional hands-on hardware work may be required for training or escalation purposes.
