Rodgers Instruments US LLC is seeking an onsite Technical Support Specialist in Hillsboro, Oregon to assist dealers and field technicians with troubleshooting, testing, and repair of electronic circuits and audio components. The role combines customer-facing technical support with hands-on electronics work, including working from Zendesk tickets and assisting with complex diagnostic needs.

Role Overview

This position supports technical issue resolution for electronic and audio systems through a mix of phone and email communication, written technical guidance, and in-person repair activities. You will interpret engineering documentation, use laboratory test equipment to validate circuit behavior, and document testing outcomes for internal and customer-facing follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, test, and repair electronic circuits and audio components
Interpret schematic diagrams and other engineering drawings and technical documents
Use test fixtures to test and troubleshoot circuits, components, and PCA boards
Apply soldering and other hands-on repair techniques to address detailed component issues on PCA boards
Provide technical support to field technicians performing diagnosis and repair of complex electronic systems, including via phone and email
Support audio system installation by providing written and verbal instructions and guidance
Compose written technical instructions
Document test results and parts usage
Identify and follow through on projects and needed products or services
Collaborate with Technical Support, Engineering, and Production teams

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent in Electronics/Electrical Technology or related field
Ability to read electronic schematic diagrams
Knowledge of laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and signal generators
Understanding of power supply circuits and circuit components
Understanding of audio systems and digital and analog electronics
Soldering experience for repair or installation of electronic components
Customer relations and technical support skills, including excellent verbal and written communication via phone and email
Collaborative, team-oriented personality

This is an onsite position in Hillsboro, Oregon. Applicants should be located within commuting distance of Portland, Oregon or plan to relocate soon.
