Technical Support Specialist/Engineer

ZF Off-Highway Solutions Minnesota Inc. is hiring a Technical Support Specialist/Engineer to deliver first-line technical assistance for hydraulic and braking system products. The position focuses on answering technical questions, supporting product selection, troubleshooting customer issues, and coordinating escalations with Applications Engineering when additional expertise is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to technical inquiries from customers, distributors, OEMs, and sales teams.
• Support product selection by addressing compatibility questions and advising on legacy product replacement recommendations.
• Provide first-pass troubleshooting and technical guidance for hydraulic and braking system products.
• Collect and document application requirements for customer projects.
• Conduct basic technical evaluations using established tools and processes.
• Manage support cases and help ensure timely follow-up with customers.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, recommendations, and outcomes.
• Assist with technical documentation by contributing to troubleshooting guides, documentation content, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering to gather application requirements, provide recommendations for standard applications, document customer interactions, and escalate complex issues when necessary.

Requirements

• 1-5 years of technical support, applications engineering, or a related field, or 4+ years in a technical or mechanical role.
• Basic understanding of hydraulic or mechanical systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Customer-focused mindset with strong organizational skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical field.
• Experience with hydraulic braking systems, mobile equipment, or off-highway applications.
• Experience supporting customers or sales teams in a technical environment.

Location and Work Authorization

This role is based in North Mankato, MN, US and is onsite.

Compensation

USD 65,700 - 82,100 per year.
