Job Description

On site in Allentown, PA, ATC is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to support PennDOT District 5-0. This role covers Tier 2 hardware and software installation and troubleshooting across field offices and district facilities, with travel across six counties as needed. The position includes expense reimbursement under Commonwealth guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, and related peripherals in line with departmental procedures and technical manuals.
  • Provide direct support for workstation requests and issues.
  • Operate Garage Diagnostics Software.
  • Support mobile iOS devices.
  • Maintain a complete and accurate equipment inventory.
  • Handle telecommunications tasks as needed.
  • Document technical processes and update existing documentation when required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and recommend enhancements.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to other PA districts for trainings, meetings, or assistance as required.
  • At least 2 years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting PC hardware and software in an enterprise LAN/WAN environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience installing and supporting laptops and docking stations.
  • At least 2 years of experience installing and supporting multifunction print devices.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Remedy or a similar ticketing system.
  • At least 2 years of experience with premise cabling, including Cat5e/6 cabling and terminations.
  • Core competencies include meticulous attention to detail, high performance in a fast-paced multitasking environment, disciplined adherence to SOPs, and strong written and spoken English communication.
