Desktop Support Technician
Job Description
Onsite Desktop Support Technician providing end-user IT support in Parsippany, NJ for a client of Compucom Staffing.
Responsibilities
- Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and peripherals
- Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems
- Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security, and groups
- Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed
- Resolves network connection issues and tracks connections back to network switches
- Escalates problems to a higher level of support if unable to resolve
- Represents the company professionally and communicates effectively with customers and colleagues
- Interacts with customers, responding to routine technical questions or requests for information
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 6+ years of experience supporting PC hardware and software
- Comfort with providing hands-on support for network connectivity issues
- Hardware and software support experience
- Deskside support experience
- Customer facing experience
- Mobile device support experience
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong personalities and attention to detail
- CompTIA A+ certification preferred but not required

Wage Range
The hourly rate for this position is between $20.25 and $27.00. Starting pay within this range may reflect geography or market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. This is a W2 only role, no Corp to Corp.
