Job Description
Ovation Workplace Services Inc offers an on-site Desktop Support Technician role in New York, NY, with a compensation range of USD 35,000 to 47,000 per year. This position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (or related field) and a minimum of one year of experience. The role provides hands-on, first- and second-level IT support across local and remote environments, with opportunities to document incidents, escalate where needed, and contribute to knowledge base improvements as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team.
Responsibilities
- Break-fix support for EUC devices (laptops, desktops) and non-EUC components (routers, switches, APs, servers, cabling, printers, meeting room devices).
- Deskside support at user workstations and remote eyes and hands for supporting teams.
- Execute IMACD (Install, Move, Add, Change, Dispose) activities.
- Provide VIP and Priority user support (P1/P2) with same business day options.
- Dedicated onsite support at designated sites during business hours.
- Scheduled visits at designated sites on a weekly or fortnightly cadence.
- Dedicated on-demand support with Next Business Day response (12 noon cut-off).
- Support events such as kick-offs, executive meetings, and client visits.
- Meeting room and AV equipment support; stock management at site storerooms.
- Device imaging, staging, and deployment; JML (Joiners-Movers-Leavers) processing at site level.
- Update CMDB for all device lifecycle changes; contribute to Knowledge Base and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage physical site access, including badges, inductions, health and safety, PPE, and security vetting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or an equivalent credential.
- Experience with Windows 13, Apple Mac, In Tune, Microsoft Active Directory, GPOs, MS Office 365, PC hardware installation and troubleshooting, Enterprise antivirus solutions, and Helpdesk ticketing systems.
- Proficiency in mobile device management for iOS and Android, Enterprise encryption solutions, and Windows PC/laptop management via Active Directory.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities; capable of multi-tasking and meeting SLAs.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and internal customer service skills; adaptable in a fast-changing environment.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime off-hours and weekends for projects or emergency support.
- Effective communication in English and local languages is mandatory.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate a keyboard and standard office equipment.
- Occasionally required to lift and move IT equipment up to 50 pounds.
- May involve bending, kneeling, or crouching to install or service equipment.
- Primary work setting is a standard office or data center with moderate noise levels.
- Travel to or work at multiple organizational sites or client locations may be required.
