IT Field Tech Support
Job Description
IT field technician supporting a K-12 Ohio school district, responsible for configuring, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting technology across multiple school sites, with on-site and remote support for staff and educators.
Location: Columbus, OH (onsite). Compensation: USD 20-23 per hour. Job type: Contract. Minimum experience: 2 years in IT support.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and validate software on desktops, laptops, and tablets.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on endpoint devices.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to staff and faculty.
- Configure, install, and support a variety of IT devices and peripherals.
- Respond to service desk tickets and document resolutions.
- Perform hardware and software upgrades, preventative maintenance, and system backups.
- Maintain asset inventories of hardware and software at assigned locations.
- Assist in deployment and testing of new technologies and systems.
- Collaborate with building staff and departments to integrate tech solutions into daily operations.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports as needed.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of IT support experience, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software in a networked environment.
- Solid knowledge of Windows operating system, common software applications, and endpoint devices.
- Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple school sites.
- Valid Ohio driver's license is required.
