IT Support Specialist
Job Description
Support casino operations by installing, supporting, and maintaining IT systems, gaming program changes, and disaster recovery for casino networks and communications.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation, operation, and maintenance of casino-related computer hardware, operating systems, application software, and data and voice communications.
- Handle and resolve user assistance requests.
- Maintain confidentiality of systems, data, and information.
- Evaluate requests, decide appropriate actions, and implement efficient, effective solutions.
- Keep the IT Director informed of requests and responses.
- Refer requests to the IT Director for review before taking action when appropriate.
- Maintain network systems, network security, and user access, and complete routine network tasks.
- Perform support activities such as backups, report generation, and problem resolution in a professional and accurate manner.
- Complete installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs for computer hardware, communications equipment, video equipment, and peripherals.
- Support the IT Director with design and implementation of efficient and cost effective IT solutions.
- Provide end-user training for applications and other software.
- Review requests for new gaming programs or program changes with the IT Director and Compliance.
- Perform gaming program changes for gaming systems.
- Prepare a written implementation plan for new and modified programs.
- Test new and modified programs and document testing prior to implementation.
- Maintain records of final program changes, including evidence of user acceptance, date in service, programmer, and reason for changes.
- Review Security logs.
- Log and report multiple log-on attempts and any denied user access after three attempts.
- Log unauthorized changes to live data files and any other unusual transactions.
- Complete other duties as assigned or directed by the IT Director or above.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
- 3+ years experience with Microsoft Networks, Windows Operating Systems, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Exchange.
- Experience performing network functions such as adding, modifying, or deleting users, objects, or directories.
- Experience troubleshooting connection errors, computer errors, and network errors.
- Skills maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware, including personal computers, peripherals, and data communication.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems with personal computers, network connections, printers, and telephone equipment.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with users, management, and staff.
- Knowledge of personal computer operating systems, telephone systems, networks, and peripherals.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- On call 24 hours for emergency/disaster recovery of casino systems and networks.
- Must be 18 years old at time of hire.
- Must successfully pass a background investigation to be employed by the Casino.
- Responsible for compliance with the Casino’s Internal Control Policy & Procedure as it relates to the position’s job description.
