Join Grambling State University in Baton Rouge, LA to support complex database and operating system environments for applications teams.

Perform complex work across the design, development, installation, migration, modification, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of database management system (DBMS) software.
Provide specialized support for applications staff by managing the database environment and establishing database standards and policies.
Handle a range of technical support activities, such as end user support, networking support, database infrastructure support, and applications support.
Configure and troubleshoot hardware and/or software using both standardized and non-standardized procedures.
Support computer operating systems and vendor-supplied software applications through configuration, design, development, installation, customization, testing, maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting.
Support delivery by role level:
- Analyst 1 (entry level): serves as assistant to Analyst 2 and 3.
- Analyst 2 (experienced): performs advanced duties and case work with greater independence, effectiveness, timeliness, accuracy, and judgment.
- Analyst 3 (advanced): performs at a highly responsible level with a greater level of independence, effectiveness, timeliness, accuracy, and judgment.

Three years of experience in information technology; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in information technology; OR
Associate’s degree in information technology plus one year of experience in information technology; OR
Bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience in information technology.
Alternate education path: a bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field.
Certification option: a certification in an approved area may substitute for education and/or experience at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Execute complex IT support tasks involving design, development, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of operating systems and software applications.
Assist with developing strategies to maintain, monitor, and support a range of computer systems and databases.
