IT Technical Support Analyst 1-3

Nunez Community College is hiring an IT Technical Support Analyst to support LSBN operating systems and software applications in an onsite role in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this position, you will carry out complex technical work across databases, computer operating systems, and vendor-supplied applications, including design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Role Overview

• Execute complex tasks related to the design, development, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LSBN operating systems and software applications.
• Support strategies to maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot a range of computer systems and databases.
• Provide specialized database and application environment support, including establishment of database standards and policies.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform complex work involving the design, development, installation, migration, modification, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of database management system (DBMS) software.
• Provide specialized support for applications staff by managing the database environment and supporting database standards and policies set by management.
• Handle technical support activities that may include end user support, networking support, database infrastructure support, and applications support.
• Configure and troubleshoot hardware and/or software using standardized and non-standardized procedures.
• Assist with complex operating system and vendor-supplied application tasks, including design, development, installation, customization, testing, maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Information Technology Technical Support Analyst 1 supports as an assistant to Analysts 2 and 3 and is an entry-level role.
• Information Technology Technical Support Analyst 2 performs advanced, more independent work, including case work requiring effectiveness, timeliness, accuracy, and sound judgment.
• Information Technology Technical Support Analyst 3 is a highly responsible advanced technical support role with increased independence, effectiveness, timeliness, accuracy, and sound judgment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Three years of experience in information technology; OR
• Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in information technology; OR
• An associate's degree in information technology plus one year of information technology experience; OR
• A bachelor’s degree plus one year of information technology experience.
• A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field.
• Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience toward the six years of full-time work experience in any field.
• Experience substitution maximum: Up to 120 semester hours may substitute for up to four years of experience in any field.
• A certification in an approved area may substitute for education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.
