Job Description

Miles IT offers a flexible, part-time onsite IT support role in the Anchorage, AK metro area. You will provide on-site IT support and technology implementation for SMBs, with a pay rate of $30 per hour and a schedule that adapts to your availability.

Responsibilities

  • Visit client sites in the metro area to provide on-site support when required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues with assistance from remote personnel.
  • Assist with deploying new technology with support from remote teammates.
  • Identify technology solutions based on analysis of customer support needs.
  • Maintain strong and consistent communication with clients.
  • Document work performed and capture relevant technical information for clients.

Requirements

  • Ability to diagnose and fix hardware and software issues for desktops and servers.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting problems on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS.
  • End-User and Help Desk experience in MS Office Suite and other common desktop applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting network related issues related to infrastructure such as switches and routers.
  • Configuration of TCP/IP settings on networks and troubleshooting TCP/IP issues.
  • Certifications such as A+, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, CNE, CCNA are a plus but not required.
  • Candidate must live within close proximity to the Metro Area for which you are applying.

Job Description

Hours are not guaranteed, but the role includes a recurring client assignment every other week. This position offers a flexible option for occasional supplemental income rather than a guaranteed monthly paycheck. As an onsite IT consultant, you will help small and medium sized businesses operate more efficiently through current technologies, combining consulting with hands-on troubleshooting and implementation.
