Technical Support Engineer (Branch Engineer)
Job Description
Onsite Technical Support Engineer (Branch Engineer) at GadellNet in Indianapolis provides hands-on IT support for a client, resolves issues on site, and coordinates with dispatch, including an on-call rotation and some travel, with a salary range of USD 50,000–60,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted on-site resource to resolve issues for remote teams
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned CSE clients regarding technical issues
- Repair, warranty, and deploy client workstations
- Diagnose and remediate network-related issues for clients
- Identify opportunities for hardware and software upgrades or gaps and report to account management
- Maintain and contribute to client documentation as needed
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
- After-hours tasks may include installing and configuring server room hardware such as switches, firewalls, and UPS devices
- Troubleshoot and resolve remote tickets when on-site work is not available
Requirements
- Occasional physical effort to twist, stretch, and lift over 50 lbs
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- After-hours work required for critical outages, projects, and on-call rotation
- 2+ years of troubleshooting experience with relevant IT systems
- 2+ years of experience with network design, maintenance, and installation
- Application support experience
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to conduct research across a wide range of computing issues
- Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly, business-friendly manner
- Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
