Job Description
As a Senior Technical Support Engineer, you will help customers and channel partners get the most from Ansys electronics simulation tools. Synopsys is focused on turning real-world engineering challenges into faster resolutions and better product quality, and this role sits at the center of that feedback loop.

What you’ll do
- Provide technical support for electronics and electromagnetics simulation using Ansys AEDT, HFSS, HFSS 3D Layout, SIwave, Q3D, and AEDT Circuit
- Troubleshoot moderately complex simulation issues, including signal integrity, power integrity, crosstalk, impedance, and eye-diagram analysis
- Partner with customers and channel partners to understand technical requirements and recommend workflows aligned with their design objectives
- Document product improvement opportunities, submit defect reports to development teams, verify fixes, and participate in field testing of new software releases
- Evaluate new software releases using real customer use cases and industrial applications to support release readiness
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases, technical documentation, and enablement content for the broader support team and customer base
- Share customer feedback, workflow insights, and technical needs with product development and field teams to improve product quality and usability
- Support successful adoption of Ansys simulation tools to reduce time to resolution and increase customer confidence
- Surface real-world workflows and pain points that inform product development priorities and roadmap decisions
- Improve product quality by identifying, documenting, and verifying fixes for defects and usability issues before wider release
- Strengthen customer relationships through clear, practical guidance that addresses engineering challenges and builds trust in the toolset
- Contribute to scalable customer excellence processes and an expanding knowledge base
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field, with coursework or focus in high-frequency electromagnetics (Master’s degree is a plus)

- Working knowledge in one or more areas: signal integrity, power integrity, crosstalk analysis, impedance simulations, or eye-diagram analysis
- Understanding of circuit-level and timing analysis for signal integrity applications, including relevant compliance standards and design considerations
- Experience with package, PCB, or connector design workflows and supporting engineering processes
- Familiarity with microwave and antenna fundamentals, including S-parameters, wave propagation, and scattering analysis
- U.S. work authorization required; U.S. citizenship preferred where required by customer, export control, or government contract requirements
- Ability to take a vague description of a simulation problem, ask the right follow-up questions, and narrow to a reproducible issue or workflow misunderstanding
- Strong organization across multiple open cases, with follow-through and appropriate escalation
- Clear written communication for defect documentation, workaround explanations, and feedback summaries for product managers
- Comfort working with guidance from senior engineers and an interest in building technical depth and customer-facing skills
- Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time for customer visits, training, or team meetings
