Job Description
Onsite Technical Support Hardware Specialist role in Los Angeles, CA with Motorola Solutions, offering $33-$38 per hour to support Engineering and Manufacturing through procurement, lifecycle management, and component qualification.
Responsibilities
- Procurement & Selection Support: Assist Engineering teams with identifying, selecting, and procuring electronic and mechanical components; coordinate with vendors to source parts that meet project requirements and timelines.
- Lifecycle Management: Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to monitor End-of-Life events and Product Change Notifications; track changes to minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Component Qualification Execution: Drive qualification plans by organizing documentation, tracking test progress, and verifying that alternative or new parts meet quality and functional standards before production integration.
- Documentation & Data Entry: Maintain accurate Bills of Materials and manage technical documentation within PLM/ERP systems.
- Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary contact for suppliers to request quotes, obtain lead times, and obtain technical datasheets.
- Additional duties: Perform other related tasks as needed to support the role.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical administrative or procurement role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with electronic components (resistors, ICs, PCBs) and mechanical hardware is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tracking sheets and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with ERP/PLM software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Knowledge of component lifecycle management and supply chain considerations.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. Person status required (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
