Job Description

The role of Technical Support Specialist for gas detection products focuses on serving as the primary contact for customer technical inquiries, troubleshooting, and resolution. Based onsite in Sioux Falls, SD, the position handles RMAs, documents product issues, and performs limited hands-on repair and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical assistance to customers through phone and email channels
  • Diagnose and fix problems associated with gas detection equipment
  • Create and oversee Return Material Authorizations (RMAs)
  • Research, log, and monitor customer complaints and product nonconformities
  • Gather and analyze data to detect trends and optimize support workflows
  • Create, update, and sustain process documentation and work instructions
  • Propose enhancements to products or systems to improve user experience
  • Carry out repairs and evaluations of products as required
  • Keep repair tools, equipment, and stock organized and in good condition

Requirements

  • Technical Associate's degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience
  • Solid understanding of electronics theory and design
  • Aptitude in both mechanical and electrical aspects
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Analog, Modbus, BACnet, Wireless, Relay Logic)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Capability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Experience operating tools such as soldering equipment and multimeters
  • High attention to detail paired with effective communication
